It is used to treat gout, crystal-induced joint inflammation, familial Mediterranean fever, Behçet disease, vasculitides and pericarditis. Colchicine inhibits cell division, intracellular vesicle motility, secretion of cytokines and chemokines. It is implicated in leukocyte diapedesis and lysosomal degranulation.
