Description General description Annexin I belongs to the annexin superfamily. It is associated with cellular membranes in the presence of Ca2+. The protein has a large conserved core domain (~30kDa) required for calcium and phospholipid association. This gene is widely expressed in tissues. It is involved in the homeostasis of innate immune system by mediating immune cells (for instance, neutrophils and macrophages).
