General description_x000D_
ARF6 is a member of the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family. It is specifically involved in endocytosis of plasma membrane proteins._x000D_
Anti-ARF6 antibody, Mouse monoclonal (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma ARFAG produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (NS1 cells) and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide. class III includes only human Arf6. The ADP-ribosylation factors (Arf) family of proteins, which belong to the Ras (rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog) family, are low molecular weight proteins capable of binding GTP._x000D_

Biochem/physiol Actions_x000D_
ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (Arf6) is present at the plasma membrane and on endosomal membranes where it regulates the flow of trafficking into and out of the cell, and regulates the actin cytoskeleton on the plasma membrane. ARF6 activates phospholipase D (PLD) and phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase (PIP5K) to generate phosphatidic acid and PIP2 (phosphotidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate), respectively.
