Calnexin associates with the ER membrane phosphoglycoprotein, signal sequence receptor SSRμ, and has been identified as the ER protein associated with major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I heavy chain and with the T-cell receptor and membrane immunoglobulin before assembly of these multimeric complexes.
