Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ PAK1 (p21 activated kinase 1) is a Ser/Thr kinase protein, and is a member of the evolutional conserved PAKs, which consists of six members. PAKs are divided into two groups- group I and II. PAK1 is a part of group I PAK, and has a wide range of tissue expression. Its GTPase binding domain (GBD) is present in the N-terminal, which also contains the autoinhibitory domain (AID). The N-terminal also contains five classical proline-rich regions (PXXP), which aid in protein-protein interaction.
