Description_x000D_ General description_x000D_ T cell receptor associated transmembrane adaptor 1 (TRAT1) is a transmembrane adaptor protein expressed in T cells. It belongs to the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. RING finger region can bind Zn ions in a way similar to the classical zinc finger motif. Its coiled-coil domain is responsible for the homomeric and heteromeric interactions among the family members as well as with other proteins. It also interacts with ubiquitin conjugating (E2) enzymes involved in ubiquitin-like modification processes, such as SUMOylation and ISGylation.
