It corresponds to a molecular weight of 69293.9Da and has an isoelectric pH of 5.82. Bovine HA has high levels of endotoxins and it polydisperse with DNA and RNA contaminants. The enzyme HA synthases at the plasma membrane (HASs) aids in the synthesis of circulatory HA. HA is implicated in many physiological processes including inflammation, immune regulation, adhesion, embryo development and tumor progression.
