Hydrocortisone for use in epithelial and endothelial adherent cell culture applications._x000D_
Application_x000D_
Hydrocortisone is used for the following applications:_x000D_
• Used in myogenic induction and identification_x000D_
• Used in long-term stromal cultures and methylcellulose cultures (one of the components in the culture medium)_x000D_
• Used in adipogenic differentiation (one of the components in adipogenic medium)_x000D_
• Used in cell culture: The human mammary epithelial cell MCF-10A cells were maintained in DMEM/F12 and supplemented with hydrocortisone along with other components_x000D_
• The SUM149 cell line was established from a primary IBC and grown in FBS supplemented with Ham′s F12 medium containing insulin and hydrocortisone_x000D_
• Used in differentiation assays of melanoma spheroid cells_x000D_
Biochem/physiol Actions_x000D_
Primary glucocorticoid secreted by the adrenal cortex. It has three times the anti-inflammatory potency of corticosterone but much lower Na2+ retention potency._x000D_

Reconstitution_x000D_
To prepare 50 μg/mL stock solution; add 1 mL absolute ethanol, gently swirl to dissolve, add 19 mL sterile medium while mixing.
